Aircraft Accident Preparedness

Course Description

This course will present the elements of an effective accident response plan.  Attendees will review ICAO, AAIB, NTSB, CAA and FAA requirements and actual response plans.  Each attendee will develop the preliminary outline for an accident response plan for their organization. 

Who Should Attend
This course is for individuals who have responsibility for accident response planning and implementation for their organization.

How You Will Benefit

  • This course will present the essentials of accident response planning to include setting up a response team to cover all aspects of accident response including care of survivors and families of victims.

  • The Board of Certified Safety Professionals accepts this course for Continuation of Certification Credit.

  • SCSI will award 3.6 CEUs to each participant who successfully completes this course.

Accident Response Regulatory Requirements (US and international); Aircraft Accident Response Agencies; Accident Notification Systems; Preservation of Evidence; Dealing with the Media; Care of Survivors and Families; Interface with the AAIB, FAA and NTSB; Bloodborne Pathogens; Post Traumatic Stress; The Elements of an Effective Plan; Developing a Plan; Training and Exercising Your Plan.

Course Administration

This course is being conducted 12-16 January 2004 at Reykjavik, Iceland. It consists of 4.5 training days (36 hours of classroom instruction).  Attendees receive lecture outlines, additional reference materials and a Certificate of Completion.  The classes begin daily at 0800 and end at noon on the last day.  To register for this course, please contact SCSI.
