Symposium Format

There will be

  • Any awards will be made during the General Assembly Session. 
  • Keynote speakers, panel speakers, and interactive workshops with plenty of time to ask questions and network.
  • Buffet lunches served Tues, Wed, Thurs.
  • Special attention to those with special dietary needs and concerns.
  • No workshop or breakout sessions will be scheduled while the general assembly is in session.

All Prague Symposium participants will be provided with 15% discount from applicable economy class fares and a 25% discount from business class fares on all ČSA flights (except OK 3000 - 4999 operated by other carriers). 

The discount will be valid for flights one week before and one week after the symposium.

 Directions to the Hilton Hotel by car

 

From the North:

You are on the North-South speedway from Dresden. Follow the signs to the city centre. Upon reaching the Vltava River, the hotel is visible on the left side. At the end of the bridge turn right and use the Tesnovsky tunnel to move to the other side of the speedway. At the end of the tunnel turn right and the hotel is on the left side. At the next lights turn left.

From the South

You are on the North-South speedway from Brno / Bratislava / Vienna, follow the signs to the city centre. When you reach the train station on the right you are only 300m from the hotel, take the second exit from the train station and at the crossing lights go straight across.

From the West

You are on the highway from Pilsen. Follow the signs to the city centre that leads you to Plzenska road. Keep the same road until you reach the Vltava River. Cross the bridge and turn left, you are on the right riverbank. Follow the river flow until you reach Tesnovsky tunnel. At the end of the tunnel turn right and the hotel is on the left side. At the next lights turn left.

From the East

You are on the highway from Hradec Kralove or from Mlada Boleslav. When approaching the city of Prague, follow the sign Cerny Most quarter. Then continue toward the city centre/Karlin till you see first the International Business Centre and behind it the Hilton hotel on your left hand side. On the traffic lights next to the hotel turn to the left and on the next one as well.

 

Directions to the Hilton hotel if you travel by train

You will arrive in Prague - Main Station or Prague – Holesovice. In either case you could use the city taxi service or metro. To reach the Hilton hotel you can take the metro to station Florenc on line C. The Hotel is situated near the Vltava river cca. 100 meters from the Florenc station to the north.

 

Directions to the Hilton hotel if you travel by coach

For nearly all coach lines the final destination is the Central Bus Terminal Florenc. The Hotel Hilton is situated near the Vltava river cca. 150 meters from this terminal to the north.

 

 

Directions from the Ruzyně Airport to downtown and the Hilton hotel

Take the shuttle service CEDAZ This is the official airport shuttle service for providing bus service to downtown Prague.  Shuttle Schedule: every 30 minutes from 5:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Hijacking Exercise. (HE)  Full Scale Hijacking Simulation Exercise using Cabin Simulator.  Details are currently being finalized.  This exercise will be conducted twice and there is a limit on the number of seats available for participants.

Workshop 1. (W-1) Qualified Assistance Onboard:  The Project "Flying Doctor,"   Edgar Buehrle, MD, Medifan GmbH, Brigitte Danzeisen, RN, Supervisor, Medifan GmbH.  Medical emergencies have become a common occurrence for airline crews during flights. Often the assistance of a medical doctor is needed. How does the crew member identify a qualified medical expert? How does a doctor understand the special circumstances of airline medical emergencies?  How does a doctor feel and react? How to motivate doctors to provide their voluntary assistance?  Flying Doctor is a two-day training that helps the participating doctor understand the onboard situation today for handling medical emergencies and prepares doctors to deal with common medical emergencies during flights. Workshop includes:

  • General overview from a medical, operational and legal perspective for handling medical emergencies during flights.

  • Discussion about experiences with doctors onboard.

  • Tips on how to lead doctors through medical emergency situations onboard.

  • Information about the Flying Doctor Training Program.

  • Introduction to the Flying Doctor Card program.

  • Guidelines for tailoring a Flying Doctor Training and Card program for individual airlines.

Workshop 2(W-2)   Crash fire rescue--what happens at the end of the slide?  Simon Reilly.  What happens in a crash and what can be expected of the crews following an evacuation.
