Gary Morphew, SCSI Director of Aircraft Accident Investigation Programs, recently completed an Advanced Aircraft Accident Investigation course in Reykjavik, Iceland, 12-14 January 2010. Also teaching in the course were Caj Frostell, former ICAO Accident Investigation and Prevention Branch Chief, and Richard Perry, Perry Associates, formerly of Sandia National Laboratories. The course was offered by the generous invitation of the Iceland Board (RNF), and was an advanced level presentation of information vital to those in the investigation field. Specific topics included advanced subjects facing Annex 13 Investigations, Electronic Component Investigations, System Safety and Investigations, Aging Aircraft Issues, Protection of Evidence, Human Factors Investigations and Confidentiality of Witnesses.
