Course Description

This is course is designed to provide personnel involved in system safety with the general background knowledge necessary to contribute successfully to system safety programs. The course will provide training in system safety management principles and system safety engineering techniques that can be applied over a system’s life cycle.  The emphasis is on the responsibilities of the implementing, supporting and using commands.

Who Should Attend

Military and civilian personnel with system safety responsibilities in the design, development or, modification of weapons systems or; Who are involved in the definition, review and evaluation of system design efforts.

How You Will Benefit

You will gain a general knowledge of system safety management and engineering principles and techniques. You will learn how to apply this knowledge in implementing and managing Air Force System Safety Programs over a system’s life cycle in your organization. You will be introduced to subjects related to System Safety such as Software Safety, and Operational Safety, Suitability and Effectiveness. You will learn how to tailor system safety tasks for acquisition contracts. You will learn how to understand and evaluate the most common types of system safety analyses. This course meets the objectives for USAF System Safety Management Course WCIP 057.

Course Administration

This is a contract course designed to delivered at the customer’s location or at the DoubleTree Hotel on the waterfront in San Pedro in Southern California. The course is 8 days (60 hours of instruction). Classes start at 0800 and end at 1700 except the last Friday when class ends at noon.
