Then you need SCSI Distance Learning Courses
Welcome to SCSI Aviation Safety Courses by Distance Learning
SCSI subject matter experts and instructors have carefully developed courses that you may take by "distance learning". These courses are available to you on the world wide web. To make it easier for you, we have two kinds of "distance learning" courses: (1) self paced, and (2) the virtual classroom.
Self Paced Distance Learning
You may view a demo of SCSI's approach to self paced distance learning by clicking here and following the instructions. You will see a sample presentation that is much like a classroom setting. There will be PowerPoint Slides with the instructor speaking to you (instructors voice is attached to each slide discussing the slide contents). During a self paced course you may be referred to URLs (other websites) and/or asked to download PDF files and references from a course reference library. You will also have a "blog-like" discussion capability with the instructors where you can leave questions for the instructors and receive answers back. You can also send emails to our instructors. You will also receive a student package which contains the PowerPoint slides used in the course so you can take notes on them, just like in the classroom. (Note: If you click the "Launch Presentation" button and nothing happens, please check your security settings on your browser and make sure any popup blockers are turned off or you give permission for this site.) In self paced distance learning you can take our courses anywhere, anytime. You can start and stop and then start again as many times as you would like. You can logoff and leave a course and then later return to the course anytime you wish as often as you wish. You can start a course in Los Angeles, continue it in Boston, and complete it in London. The course is at your own pace.
The Virtual Classroom Distance Learning
In this distance learning option, a course is offered on the web following a "fixed schedule" of class meetings. If you enroll in a virtual classroom course, you attend the course using your computer and logging into the course each time a class meeting is scheduled. You will see and hear the instructor "live" and see and hear each other student in the class just as they can see and hear you. You can interact and ask questions just like in the traditional classroom. You are "virtually" in a classroom together.
